This course is a two session workshop. In your first session you will learn how to properly set lead type and design a cover and back cover for your book. You will learn the printer's measure, how to use a composing stick, set type pull a proof, and properly set up the printing press and run a small edition of covers for your book.
In your second session, you will take your letterpressed materials and learn to create a coptic stitched book with multiple signatures that will help you to build the foundation for future hardcover books. It is recommended that you take the Beginner Bookbinding course prior to this workshop, but not necessary. All letterpress and bookbinding supplies will be covered.
